Learn the basics of Strength Training with our exclusive hands-on 90minute individual workshop, (this can also be with a training partner to help reduce costs). The workshop is designed to help you start lifting weights safely and confidently and will use a mix of dumbbells, kettlebells, barbell, curl bar and the cable machine.
The workshop will focus on
- Squats & Deadlifts
- Bench & Shoulder Press
- Biceps & Triceps
Fundamental to the workshop will be ensuring you
- Learn the starting position, stance and proper form for key exercises
- Understand how strength training can help you build and tone muscle, burn more calories and boost everyday fitness
- Have the confidence and knowledge on how much weight to use, and how to progress volume and intensity
Is Lifting for Beginners Workshop For You?
The Lifting for Beginners workshop is ideal if you:
- Are completely new to strength training or returning after a long break
- Feel unsure about where to start with gym workouts and want a more practical understanding instead of copying strangers
- Want to improve core strength, upper body and leg muscles as part of a balanced strength training workout
The workshop is suitable for complete beginners, with no gym experience necessary, and we regularly welcome participants from age 10 through to 70+.

Wear comfortable clothing, such as leggings or shorts with an appropriate top, trainers and bring a water bottle
We will start with bodyweight and light weights and only progress when we feel your technique is good, we only focus on correct form, it’s not a PT session.
The key focus on strength training is to not only build muscle, but to tone up. As regular strength training also burns calories this will help with weight loss when combined with cardio workouts, a healthy diet and just as improtant, rest days.
